Dear X is an application that will bring back the personal touch to mass produced greeting SMS. Dear X will change your generic (and boring) greeting SMS to a dedicated personalize greeting SMS. Instead of “Happy New Year from John Doe, Dear X will change it for you to be Hey John, Happy New Year from your buddy John Doe. Isn’t that awesome?
Dear X comes with an added feature of CC-list toggle. Group text is enabled with the option to add names collectively. Say goodbye to the hassle of typing separately. Send your Happy New Year greeting SMS to Ted/Marshal/Barney/Lily/Robin and Dear X will personalize the greetings and send it individually to them. Amazing!

With festive seasons just around the corner worldwide (Deepavali, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukah, Christmas, New year, Chinese/Lunar New Year), I thought I’d review an application that would come handy during the next following months.
How many people do YOU know? given the nature of my day job, i probably deal with somewhere between 100~200 new people yearly. while not all, some of these people actually convert into being real good friends who i actually talk to or meet up with on a regular basis. Which brings me back to my original statement, on festive seasons. With the amount of people i know stacking up, (no i’m not mr popular.. i just work in sales) i tend to get a lot of greetings during festive occasions…The problem i always face (well its not so much a problem rather an insecurity issue) is that the sms’s i receive are normally forwarded sms sent to a dozen other friends.
Dear X does not sort out your forwarded messages, mark your friends as robots and change their picture to a T800.. But it does help prevent your friends from doing that to you! The application is dead easy to use (if only something was done about its clunky interface). it allows you to type ONE SMS, put a Name place holder within the SMS, and then select the people you want to send te message to. What the app later does (when you click send) is it replaces the placeholder, with the name of the receiver and sends the sms`s one by one. You still will need to click send one by one for each sms sent which is kind of a negative (but i guess the developer knows that..)
While i would like to see the interface cleaned up a bit, all and all i think this is a very decent idea and will be very useful for me (and maybe you) for the upcoming months. If you like to get personal.. Or you don’t know which one of your 10 girlfriends are available to hook up to night :P i recommend this app!
