Description
The EyeTV app turns your iPad and iPhone into the ultimate portable television! Watch live TV, view previously recorded shows, check the program guide and set up recordings anywhere you go, via a 3G or Wi-Fi connection.
IMPORTANT: This app requires a Macintosh Intel Core 2 Duo (or better) computer running EyeTV 3.4, or an EyeTV Netstream device.
The EyeTV app works together with the EyeTV software (and compatible tuner/TV device) running on your Mac at home to deliver these great features to your iPhone or iPad:
• Watch live TV and change channels anywhere (via a Wi-Fi or 3G connection)
• Watch your EyeTV recordings
• Browse the comprehensive Program Guide
• Start recordings back home on your Mac immediately or schedule them for later.
• View and edit your recording schedules

EyeTV on your Mac converts live TV to the format recommended by Apple for streaming to the iPhone/iPad. The EyeTV app utilizes the video playback architecture of the iPhone OS, insuring optimum performance and battery life.

NETWORK INFO:
On your local Wi-Fi network no configuration is needed, just turn on iPhone/iPad Sharing in EyeTV’s Preferences window. Fully automatic configuration isn’t always possible outside of your local network, please see www.elgato.com/iphonehelp for details. EyeTV uses port 2170.
If you are using the Mac OS X firewall, be sure to allow connections from both EyeTV and EyeConnect. If that doesn’t allow you to connect, try disabling the firewall temporarily.
WORKS WITH OPTIONAL TURBO.264 HD
If you have an Elgato Turbo.264 HD video converter on your Mac, EyeTV supports live TV adaptive streaming to give you the best picture possible under varying network speeds. This is especially valuable when streaming to the higher resolution screen of the iPad.

REQUIREMENTS
• a Mac computer (streaming live TV requires an Intel Core 2 Duo processor or better)
• EyeTV 3.4 or higher and a compatible TV tuner or EyeTV HD (Use ‘Check for Updates’ in EyeTV on your Mac to make sure you’re running the latest version.)
• iPhone OS 3.1.3 or iPad OS 3.2 or higher
• For live TV streaming over a 3G connection, Elgato’s Turbo.264 HD is recommended.

EyeTV now supports playback of live standard-definition television in MPEG-2 format when connected to an EyeTV Netstream tuner. This feature requires an iPad, iPhone 4, or iPod touch 4th generation running iOS4, and a local 802.11n Wi-Fi network.
