Satellite Visibility displays daily predictions for when satellites will be visible for any location. This includes the International Space Station, the Space Shuttle, and the Hubble Space Telescope. It can display a chart of the whole sky, or a more detailed chart showing the path of the satellite across the sky.

PLEASE NOTE:
- Some of the satellites shown may not be visible at your location.
- Light pollution in urban areas can make the sky brighter, which makes satellites harder to see.
- Satellites need to be lit by the sun in order to be visible, but need to be brighter than the sky to be seen.
-- This is why all the satellite passes only occur during morning and evening twilight.
-- The time that twilight occurs changes throughout the year.
-- The length of twilight is shorter at the equator, and much longer near the poles.
-- Later at night the satellites are not lit by the sun, and so are not visible.


What's new in Version 1.4.1
We have recently been informed by Chris Peat of Heavens-Above.com that this app has been generating heavy loads on their server. This is the website that generates the satellite predictions and charts that this app displays.

In an effort to reduce this load, the app no longer downloads all charts for all the passes automatically. Instead, we've added a download button on each pass that lets you easily select which charts to download. Once selected, you can continue to use the app as normal. The charts will be downloaded in the background as long as the app is running.
